Trump Claims US Operation Secured Major Oil Flow Through Hormuz

(MENAFN) US President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that an American military mission helped ensure the safe passage of more than 100 million barrels of oil and over 200 commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz.

According to reports, Trump stated that he had instructed the military last month to carry out what he described as a “secret mission” aimed at protecting oil tankers and commercial shipping moving through the strategic waterway.

He wrote on his Truth Social platform, “Today, I am pleased to announce that this effort has resulted in more than 100 million barrels of oil making its way through the Strait, and into the open market.”

Trump also said that more than 200 commercial ships had completed their journeys safely as part of the operation.

He added, “This wildly successful effort is because the United States of America controls the Strait of Hormuz — not Iran. Their military is defeated, and their economy is lost. It’s over for Iran!”
